The Spindle of the Fates by Nocturn Play: Game Review
The Spindle of the Fates swaps reels for a round board of four spinning rings. Released by Nocturn Play on 5 October 2026, it pays on rays from the centre and chains respins through its Golden Thread multiplier, in the base game and in the bonus alike.

Rays, not reels
Picture a round marble board seen from above. Four rings of twelve squares circle a golden spindle, and twelve rays run from that centre to the rim. Press spin and all four rings turn together, then stop one by one from the inside out.
A ray wins with three matching symbols from the centre outwards. If the fourth square on the rim matches too, it pays more. That is the whole reading lesson, and it takes one spin to learn. The spindle itself is the joker, except on the centre ring where it never lands.
The scene is a white temple on a cliff at dusk. Clotho spins thread, Lachesis carries her measuring rod, and Atropos waits under a purple hood with her shears. Symbols run from a silver owl obol and a knucklebone up through masks and helmets to the lyre.
The Golden Thread decides how a session feels
Most games save their best mechanic for the bonus. This one runs it on every paid spin. Each winning ray pulls a golden thread, and Lachesis spins a single ring again. Any new winning rays after that respin are multiplied by the number of threads already pulled: x2, then x3 and upward. The chain ends the moment a respin brings no new thread.
In practice, base-game spins split into two kinds. Most are quiet. A few start pulling threads and keep going, and those are the spins people remember. It is a cascade feeling without anything actually falling.
Atropos cuts the board down
Shears appear only on the outer ring. Three start 8 free spins, and every shears beyond the third adds 2, capped at 20. At the start of each free spin Atropos removes the smallest remaining symbol: obol first, then knucklebone, then pomegranate. Up to three go, and they stay gone, so the board fills with richer symbols as the round goes on.
The rim also turns gold, with each square carrying x2, x3, x5 or x10 on its ray. If all twelve threads get pulled in one free spin, the Great Spindle pays the top prize. The bonus can also be bought outright.
Who will play it
Fans of Greek mythology slots will recognise the cast. The audience that actually stays is the one that likes reading a board: this is a geometry game as much as a slot. It sits well in Southern and Eastern European lobbies where mythology themes perform, and in “new mechanics” carousels anywhere.
Operators on SoftAggregator had it in their game list on release day, alongside The Peacock Cube from the same afternoon.

Frequently asked questions
How does a ray pay in The Spindle of the Fates?
Three matching symbols along a ray, on rings one, two and three counting from the centre. If the outer square matches too, it pays the higher 4-in-a-row value. Each ray counts only its best combination.
Does the Golden Thread work outside the bonus?
Yes. Every winning ray pulls a thread and Lachesis respins one ring. New wins after that respin are multiplied by the number of threads pulled, and the chain continues until a respin pulls nothing.
How many free spins do Atropos' Shears give?
Three shears on the outer ring give 8 spins, and each extra shears symbol adds 2, up to 20. At the start of each free spin the smallest symbol still in play is cut from the board, up to three symbols.
What is the Great Spindle?
Pulling all twelve golden threads during a single free spin. The studio says this pays the game's maximum win; it does not publish the figure as a multiple.
