The Peacock Cube by Nocturn Play: Game Review

By Soft of Games editorial team · Updated

The Peacock Cube replaces reels with a 3D jewel cube whose slices rotate like a puzzle after every spin. Released by Nocturn Play on 5 October 2026, it lets the player choose how many faces to bet on and builds its bonus around squares that turn gold.

A puzzle toy that pays

The first spin of The Peacock Cube is slightly disorienting, in a good way. A marble cube studded with jewels sits where reels should be. You see three faces. The whole block turns, then a few slices rotate the way a puzzle cube does, carrying a ruby from the front face up onto the top.

The setting is a Mughal palace under a full moon, domes reflected in a still pool, a peacock perched on a golden column. A princess in a blue sari raises a diamond on wins. An old jeweller with a monocle taps the stones with his stick. It is one of the better-looking scenes in the Nocturn Play range.

The face choice is the real decision

Most games ask how much. This one also asks how wide. You set a bet per face and then play one, two or three faces. One face is the front only. Three faces is everything visible, top included, at three times the cost.

Each face pays on eight lines: three rows, three columns, two diagonals. Three matching jewels on a played face win, the white jewel fills in for any stone, and nine identical jewels make a Full face. Stones climb from carnelian and pearl through lapis, ruby and the golden peacock, up to the elephant.

Here is the detail worth noticing. Feathers ignore your face choice and count on all three sides. A cautious player on one face can still land the bonus from a feather on top.

Peacock Night and the gold that stays

Three feathers give 8 spins, four give 10, five give 12, and three more during the night add 5, up to 30. The spins play across all three faces with the total bet split between them.

Every square that forms part of a win turns gold and keeps its colour for the rest of the night, riding along as slices twist. One gold square in a later line doubles it, two make x3, three make x4. A fully gold face pays a treasure and resets. Three gold faces at once turn the cube solid gold and pay the top prize, which the studio describes rather than quotes as a number.

Where it fits in a lobby

This is a slow, thinking game. Players who enjoy puzzle apps, gem matchers and the visual calm of jewel slots will stay with it. High-speed spinners may find the slice animation long, though turbo helps.

For operators, it gives a “new mechanics” row something genuinely different to show. Casinos on SoftAggregator received it on release day. Markets that respond to rich Indian and Middle Eastern palace imagery are an obvious first test.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a spin cost in The Peacock Cube?

One bet per face in play. You set the bet per face, then choose one face (front), two (front and right) or three (front, right and top). Three faces cost three times the bet per face.

Do peacock feathers only count on the faces I play?

No. Feathers count anywhere on the three visible faces, even if you only bet on the front. Three, four or five feathers start the Peacock Night with 8, 10 or 12 spins.

What does the gold inlay do?

During the Peacock Night every square in a winning line turns gold and stays gold until the bonus ends. A line with one, two or three gold squares pays x2, x3 or x4. A fully gold face pays a treasure.

Does The Peacock Cube publish a numeric max win?

Not on nocturnplay.com as of October 2026. The site describes the top win as three golden faces at the same moment, which turns the whole cube gold.
